Domaine Bachey-Legros Santenay Premier Cru Clos Rousseau Vieilles Vignes | Fine Vines
This wine is about balance... Our Clos Rousseau comes from three plots whose vines are all more than 30 years old: Les Fourneaux (planted in 1914), the Grand Clos Rousseau (1980), and the Petit Clos Rousseau (1955). Les Clos and Les Fourneaux are highly complementary. Grand and Petit Clos, their vines flush with the calcareous bed-rock, give the wine its mineral structure, and a dominant characteristic of red fruit, all finesse and elegance. Les Fourneax is where our oldest vines grow. These deep soil bring an exceptional richness in mature and very silky tannins, with aromas of ripe black fruits. The three cuvees are vinified seperately, always gently. We seek to achieve a perfect balance between structure, elegance and aromatic complexity.
