Chateau Peyros Madiran Vieilles Vignes

Chateau Peyros Madiran Vieilles Vignes

The Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 80% Tannat and 20% Cabernet Franc with an average vine age between 40-50 years. The wine spends about 12 months in oak barrels about 40% new before it is bottled. This is no shy Madiran. It is full of the power and texture that one associates with the region. With some decanting it is absolutely appropriate with rich dishes of sausage, duck confit and rustic pâtés.

Abundant, ripe, fresh red berry and perfumed blueberry laced with rich, dark plum aromas, lead to a beautifully textured, rounded palate packed with heady black fruit, delicate smoke and fine grained tannins
