The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Fonteny is a 55 year old parcel has the same exposition as Serafin's Grenad Cru and is located just to the north and almost adjoining Ruchottes Chambertin. 100% new oak elevage.
A gorgeous Gevrey, this exudes floral and sweet berry aromas that lead a beam of cherry flavor, with notes of blackberry, spice and mineral. This seems pretty for the appellation, yet there's density and grip to its tannins. Best from 2013 through 2027.
