From the Archive
Terroir: North of Richebourg and Romanée St. Vivant, vines planted following the slight slope. Soil at the top of the slope is rocker and well-draining, lower down soil is richer, with more clay and (they suspect) an underground stream
At the bottom of this slope lies the Vosne cemetery. Historically, the villagers would say "gone to the Suchots" as slang for having passed away.
