The 2007 Tokaji Aszu 3-Puttonyos is a blend of 60% Furmint, 20% Harslevelu, 10% Muscat and 10% Zeta that sees two years in three-year-old wooden barrels (136 and 220-liter). With 103 grams per liter residual sugar, it has a more intense nose for a 3-Puttonyos, with peach skin, nectarine, yellow plum and a touch of papaya fruit that shows fine clarity. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous, honeyed opening of Manuka honey, yellow plum, orange rind and dried mango. There is a salty note on the periphery with a sedate, if ever so slightly predictable finish. Fine. Drink now-2035.
Sweet yet light-bodied, sporting flavors of lanolin, apricot and baking spices. Well-balanced, with a lingering finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,533 cases made.
