Guidi of Chianti Classico: Legacy and Expression

Since 1929 the Guidi family has tended vineyards between Siena and Florence, preserving four generations of family craftsmanship in the Chianti Classico zone of Tuscany ([chianticlassico.com](https://www.chianticlassico.com/en/estates/guidi-1929/?utm_source=openai)). Their vineyards in San Donato in Poggio rest on galestro, alberese, and marl soils, ideally suited to Sangiovese’s structure and aromatic depth ([guidi1929.com](https://www.guidi1929.com/en/vineyards/?utm_source=openai)). Today Avio Guidi and his sons maintain this heritage, guided by a rooted respect for their land, ethical farming, and sustainable stewardship ([guidi1929.com](https://www.guidi1929.com/en/?utm_source=openai)).

Chianti Classico itself is one of the most celebrated and tightly defined appellations in the world, with rules that emphasize Sangiovese as the core of the blend, aged with care and authenticity ([chianti.guide](https://chianti.guide/wineries.html?utm_source=openai)). Sangiovese is the emblematic grape of Tuscany and Chianti in particular, celebrated for its ability to convey regional character while aging gracefully ([consorziovinimaremma.it](https://www.consorziovinimaremma.it/en/vines/sangiovese/?utm_source=openai)). Guidi’s focus on Chianti Classico DOCG, responsibly farmed and rooted in tradition, offers a refined, terroir-driven expression of Sangiovese for the FineVines portfolio.
